Let it rain… let it SNOW!!!
Am I some sort of sicko because the cold, pouring rain at daybreak totally makes my day? I’ve always had a thing for weather like this, and I suspect it started back when I was five and put on my first pair of snow skis. I learned fast that bad weather meant great snow conditions and that awesome, fly-through-the-powder feeling the next day!
And that’s what we have now… so call in sick and grab your sticks or your board and head for the mountains!
The San Diego County forecast is calling for a winter storm warning with snow levels near 4,000 to 4,500 feet, lowering to 3,000 to 3,500 feet late tonight through Tuesday morning for the San Bernadino County Mountains. The greatest potential for locally heavy snowfall is in the San Bernadino Mountains above 6,000 feet with significant accumulation expected in all mountains down to 5,000 feet with a few inches possible down to 4,000 to 4,500 feet.
SWEEEEET!!!!
Here’s the deal. If you don’t have snow gear, let Hansen Surfboards hook you up. You can rent if you’re not into buying yet, or you can demo and try before you buy. Jeff will set you up with all the gear you need to get you going with rates by the day, two days, or more.
Now here’s my disclaimer: I asked Josh Hansen what he wanted me to blog about this week and he said he wanted me to write about the weather conditions and the awesome rental program at Hansen Surfboards. That’s like asking a dog who hasn’t eaten for a week to sit by a juicy steak and just look at it.
I have a week of meetings and lots of work. No chance of playing hookey and heading to Hansen Surfboards to get that new pair of skis and snow gear I’ve been eyeing and heading to the mountains. I just get to write about this stuff and feel tortured. And pray for lots more snow!!!
